Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on 18 July 2026
Heartwood Wisdom is committed to making our experiences as welcoming and accessible as possible. We believe everyone deserves the chance to connect with nature and with themselves in a supportive environment.
This statement explains how we think about accessibility and what you can expect when you join us.
Our Commitment
We aim to:
-
Treat all participants with respect and dignity.
-
Make reasonable efforts to accommodate different physical, sensory, and emotional needs.
-
Communicate clearly about what each experience involves so you can decide what feels right for you.
If you have any accessibility needs, please contact us before your visit so we can explore options together.
Nature-Based Experiences & Terrain
Our experiences take place outdoors in natural settings. This means:
-
Some paths may be unpaved, uneven, or include grass, dirt, rocks, or gentle slopes.
-
Weather (rain, mud, snow, heat, cold) can affect how easy it is to move around.
Because of this, not all areas or activities may be fully accessible for every mobility level. We will:
-
Share as much detail as we can about the terrain and walking distance in advance.
-
Adjust routes, pace, or activities when possible to better support your needs.
-
Offer rest breaks and quieter options when we can.
If you use a mobility aid (such as a cane, walker, or wheelchair), or have balance or stamina concerns, please let us know ahead of time so we can discuss what is realistic and safe.
Our experiences may include:
-
Quiet time in nature
-
Guided reflection or meditation
-
Group sharing or conversation
-
We will:
-
Use clear, gentle language.
-
Invite, but not force, participation in sharing.
-
Encourage you to take breaks, step aside, or opt out of any activity that does not feel right for you.
-
If you have sensory sensitivities, anxiety, PTSD, or other emotional or cognitive needs, please share what you are comfortable sharing in advance so we can do our best to support you.
Because our work is outdoors and often on unpaved paths, we cannot guarantee full physical accessibility for all participants or all locations.
We will:
-
Be honest about what we can and cannot safely provide.
-
Prioritize your safety and the safety of the group.
-
Continue to learn and improve our accessibility practices over time.
Communication and Support/Feedback
If you need information in a different format (for example, more detailed written descriptions of terrain or activities), or if you have questions about accessibility for a specific experience, please reach out.
